A New Missionary's Experience

Introduction
Zeneida Sanchez had been one of our translators in Honduras for MFMI and other church groups over the past few years. She has been involved with local missions in Pena Blanca, where she lives, as a volunteer at an orphanage. Over the past year she has been able to start her nurses training so that she will not only be able to have a job and ministry helping people in Honduras; but she has desired to use her nursing skills in other places of need as well. When she heard of the need in Haiti, she immediately had a desire to go. It seemed impossible in her circumstances as a single mom of two boys and in the midst of her nursing studies. We all began to pray and ask the Lord if it would be possible for her to join one of the YWAM medical teams. As she began to explore the practical possibilities, miraculously the doors opened. At that point, we of YWAM Santa Fe felt we should seek to raise enough money to cover her airfare and ground fees.

She DID go and is now back home. We received very good reports of how helpful she was assisting the doctors and had a natural compassion for the people. The following is what she wrote to us after her experience.

My experience , hard to describe in words...but i can say i have been blessed beyond words...the people are so loving and are so willing to receive the love that we offer. It's just amazing, after all that they have been trough...I was able not only to use my skills as a nurse but also to share and bond with the people, to love on them and to let them know there's people who care for them. Also it made me realize how fortunate and blessed i am, learning how to be grateful for what i have and to have a better disposition to my own issues and hardships... So thank you, once again for supporting this trip, for your prayers and for helping it happen. I know God has a calling for me and i am willing to answer and serve him in any way that he sees fit. I truly believe this will not be my last mission trip and certainly my first of many trips to Haiti.
