Jennifer Bullock Reports from Haiti - 2/15/10

Haiti Report (Reported from Jennifer Bullock to Karen Lafferty by phone on 2/15/10)
When Jennifer was asked about what kind of photography she was getting, at that point she said very little. She explained, “The people have had so many cameras in their faces that I couldn’t bring myself to do that to them again. I’ve spent much of my time just praying for the people”.

YWAM international has been sending in so much help that they are now known by many of the people and government agencies. Jennifer is working along side a medical team sent from YWAM Tyler, Texas’ ministry “Mercy Works”. Two days after the earthquake most of the government buildings were destroyed except for the police station near the Presidential Palace. The government gave that building to YWAM to use as a hospital. They used the police chief’s desk as their operating table.

Recently the whole nation was asked to observe three days of prayer and fasting to mourn for the dead and pray for the rebuilding of the nation. The President of Haiti, René Préval, wept as he spoke to the thousands of people who came to the streets to worship and pray. Jen was able to observe and film this event from the YWAM hospital atop the police station. It’s appearing that revival is breaking loose.

Jen also told about something that happened when the YWAM team she is working with were going back to their base. As they were driving they saw a fire. Thinking someone could be in trouble they stopped to see if help was needed. What they found was a voodoo witch doctor who had just prayed to receive Christ. He was burning his voodoo paraphernalia. The YWAMers went with him to a local pastor’s home and were able to pray with him.
